Welcome to Hunkubakkar Guesthouse

Tourist facilities have been available at Hunkubakkar Guesthouse in South of Iceland since 1974. Pálmi Hreinn Harðarson and Jakobína Flosadóttir are the present owners and alongside the guesthouse, they run a thriving sheep farm.

Hunkubakkar Guesthouse is open from 1st of February until the 31st of October. It is a family run guesthouse, situated by road 206, about 6 km west from Kirkjubæjarklaustur in South Iceland. Hunkubakkar Guesthouse is the ideal accommodation for those who want to explore the South of Iceland as many of the major attractions such as Fjaðrárgljúfur, Lakagígar Craters, Skaftafell National Park and Jökulsárlón (the Glacier lagoon) are within a relatively short driving distance.

We offer accommodation in small, bright and comfortable, double/twin or three-person cottages. There are also three bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities in the main farmhouse.

You will find a gourmet restaurant on site, with seating for up to 50 people, where breakfast, lunch and evening meals are served. We offer a variety of mouth-watering dishes and take pride in using only top quality ingredients from our local surrounding. Enjoy great cuisine and service before you take on the many adventures that await you on your road trip around Iceland.
